3.4: A dream of Death
Froggie’s nerves have been frayed for the last few days by what seems to be the sound of tapping at the window every evening as soon as darkness arrives at the impossibly early time of 5pm leaving many hours of night. But each time he ventures outside with a lantern, there is no sign of anyone or anything.
Taking refuge in sleep, he wakes in a cold sweat with half a memory of a dream of a figure sitting up in a coffin and looking him in the eye with, as it were, an invitation to join him.
Instinctively, Froggie realises that he has been visited in his dreams by Death.
