12: Another spooky image!
Everyone thinks that Juggins-the-False will be miles away by now, spending the money that should have been used to buy more marmalade and fruit juice. Breakfasts in the Potting Shed are now just a crust of dry bread and some stale coffee. Some of the creatures stay in their beds until way past 10 o’clock because they have nothing to get up for. The Potting Shed is no longer a happy place and it is all the fault of Juggins-the-False. What an unpleasant fellow he turned out to be!
More to do something than with any particular theory, Alcock goes back to the big dilapidated house nearby to look once more at their security cameras which, for reasons one one understands (but some people whisper the word ‘INSURANCE’ as though this explains it), are still filming.
At first all looks normal, but then he thinks he notices it and blows up the image. Surely that is Juggins-the-False again. He is still here! And he must have retrieved his familiar hat. Perhaps this image is a clue to where he is sleeping?
