4: The sponge and press business

Almost immediately, Juggins checks out local competitors for his own incipient sponge and press business. Things are not initially promising as there seem to be well established very thorough services. Even Juggins has to admire some of the ironing he watches. See how the creases disappear to this very professional fellow expert! Sometimes Juggins feels quite tingly watching skilful ironing. But perhaps we all do?

Also the existing local businesses have impressive equipment. As a travelling valet he does not own such a big iron or a washing machine like this one. He could easily climb inside it!

Sadly, however, custom for his own business is slack and trade is slow. But he does have a trusty sponge and a willingness to follow where it leads.
